Young Ravers Step Up

The future looks bright for Caldy RFC, four Senior Colts represented Cheshire at the weekend with a further three making their first men’s rugby starts playing for Caldy 2ndTeam. The Senior Colts finish 2023 on top of the Northwest Colts League.

Lancashire U18s Versus Cheshire U18s

Lucas Wiggins (wing) – Dylan Carroll (Full Back) – Jack Wilson (No8) – Luke Denn (Centre)

On Sunday four Caldy RFC Senior Colts represented Cheshire in U18s County Match against Lancashire at Broughton Park RFC. All were in the starting 15 demonstrating their skills and power, dominating a Lancashire side that were totally outclassed.

Final Score – Lancashire U18s 17Pts – Cheshire U18s 43Pts

Caldy RFC 2s Versus Lymm RFC2s

James Manuel (Wing) – Harry Lightfoot (Flanker) –  Ben Leek (Wing)

On Saturday James Manuel, Harry Lightfoot and Ben Leek played their first senior men’s match, making their debuts for Caldy 2nd Team. Ben played a full match on the wing, with James and Harry entering the fray early in the second half.

All the players played well and did not look out of place at this level. Andrew Souter (Coach) was very impressed with the contribution of all three player’s saying that Ben’s turn of pace was impressive and the ball carrying and tackling from Harry and James had an impact on the game.

Caldy Senior U18s Colts finish the Year Top of the League

After 10 matches played this season Caldy Senior Colts are on top of the Halbro Northwest Colts League ”A”. They have a four-point lead and a game in hand over their nearest rivals Sandbach who they have beaten home and away. The next home game is against Penrith Senior Colts on January 21st at Paton Field with a 2.00 pm kick off.
