The Ravers travel to Doncaster still looking for their first win of the season. Although…
Welcome back to rugby!
After two years of uncertainty and challenge, I am delighted to be able to welcome everyone back to the new season at Caldy Rugby Club.
Pitch up to rugby
Our aim is to kick off the new season with a bang! Sunday 5th September 2021, 10am to 3pm. Please come along and join us for registration and some fun. There’s food available, the bar will be open and there’s a hotdog for all our junior and mini members. We have a giant inflatable obstacle course and a team Tug of War event.
Lisa will also be available for new kit ordering and collection.
We have been working to improve communication for the new season. Your first point of contact should be your coach and/or manager. However, I am always available as are:
Mark Wilson Vice Chair
Kim Matthews Vice Chair
Lee Matthews, Colts Rugby
Paul MacDonald, Junior Rugby
Matt Green and Ali Youden, Mini’s Rugby
Chris Green, Girl’s Rugby
Shaun Thomas, Touch Rugby
We meet monthly as a committee to ensure information is shared regularly and there is timely support for our members.
The new Caldy RUFC website is also now up and running. We are using Spond as our main communication channel so make sure you are signed up to your age group chat. This will keep you informed about training, fixtures and any events – not forgetting the Mini’s Tour in Spring 2022.
We have been looking closely at our finances and in particular subscriptions. It is difficult to get an accurate picture as we haven’t yet had a “normal” season since the Community section opened its own account.
We are asking that all members make a payment for the new season by 30th September 2021, either payment in full or the first monthly standing order please. This will ensure all players are registered and insured through the RFU. For this reason, anyone not paying by 30th September will not be eligible to play for Caldy until payment has been made. This will also allow us to have a clearer idea of where we stand financially and we intend to have a small group to look at the issues of subs for season 22/23.
Finally, a huge thank you to all the volunteer coaches, managers and everyone else who makes Caldy Rugby Club so brilliant – particularly the “Last of the Summer Wine” team, who ensure the pitches and club facilities are immaculate.
There are always opportunities for you to get involved and we are always grateful for any help. In particular, we will be asking for volunteers to help run the tuck shop on a weekly basis. – more details to follow.
See you on Sunday 5th September. Let’s make it a great season!
