That Friday Feeling – 15th March 2024

Such is the frustratingly staccato nature of the Championship fixture list there is no Championship fixture for Caldy this Saturday and after a good win away against Jersey last weekend, Caldy’s 2nd XV have also been left kicking their heels. The 2nd XV should have been returning to Paton Field for a Cotton Traders Cup Semi Final against Macclesfield. However, Macclesfield have cried off this fixture so unfortunately there is no senior rugby at Paton Field this Saturday.

However, we have the Guinness Six Nations finale to look forward to. The clubhouse bar will be open & our TVs will be screening all the action :
Wales v Italy kick-off 2.15 pm
Ireland v Scotland kick-off 4.45 pm
France v England kick off 8.00 pm

Community Rugby
This Sunday 17 March sees the 31st Caldy Junior Rugby Festival. Weather willing, we will have 32 teams, including 5 of our own playing 80 games, across 6 pitches, for 16 trophies.
The first matches kick off at 11.00 am and the last Final kicks off at 15.40 pm. Huge thanks to everyone involved with planning the festival, preparing the grounds / pitches in advance & all those volunteering on the day to help with the gate, parking, catering, coaching, refereeing & all the teams’ players, parents & supporters. Everyone is welcome to come along anytime to enjoy a bumper day of Junior rugby at Paton Field & Glasspool.

With many thanks to the support from our local clubs, Birkenhead Park and Hoylake, we have arranged tri-fixtures for most mini age groups so Minis are all away v Birkenhead Park & Hoylake or training elsewhere.

u17 Junior Colts have the Cheshire Plate Semi Final away v Anselmians ko 12.00 noon
Girls & u18 Colts – rest weekend

Good luck to everyone & enjoy your rugby weekend !
