Caldy u18s Girls celebrate home win
Caldy u18s Girls hosted a combined opposition team from Broughton Park FC ( RU ) and Crewe & Nantwich RUFC last Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect & the crowd who gathered on “JJs Bank” were treated to a fantastic, highly entertaining, competitive game of rugby.
There was nothing to choose between the teams during the first half with the visitors leading a closely fought contest throughout until Caldy counter attacked from under their posts to score an amazing breakaway try the full length the 1st XV pitch. A superb conversion made it 17 – 15 at half time.
Caldy grew in confidence and dominated the second half with an excellent team performance of attacking running rugby scoring 5 tries without reply. The visitors rallied towards the end of the game & scored a late consolation try but the game ended Caldy 42 – 20 Broughton Park / Crewe & Nantwich.
A terrific contest, played in the spirit of the game with thanks to both teams, their coaches, supporters & referee Phil Brown.
Caldy Girls are recruiting new players aged 12 – 17 to join our u14s, u16s & u18s squads – if you know of anyone interested please ask them to go to https://caldyrugbyclub.com/girls-rugby/ & contact Chris Green 07796 696816 or Rowland Woolford 07824 391125 for more details.
