Matt Gallagher will be looking for another score against the Mob

Last week’s first ever win over 6th placed Hartpury secured Champ rugby for another season for both the Ravers and the Wirral. With three matches to go the challenge now is to pick up some more wins to end the season on a positive note.
First up is tomorrow’s away fixture against an always tough Ampthill. The Ravers won the reverse fixture 34-29 in a feisty physical encounter at Paton Field. The Mob sit 8 league points ahead of the Ravers at 9th in the table, but their recent form has been excellent with four impressively dominant league wins against Hartpury, Richmond, Doncaster Knights and London Scottish scoring more than 200 points in the process.
Dillingham Park is a similar natural stadium to Paton Field with a partisan crowd determined to discombobulate every visiting side. To say this will not be easy is an understatement.

The Ravers will need Connor Wilkinson’s strength this weekend

Before the 1st xv squad take on the Mob, Caldy’s 2nd xv have a Friday night league fixture under the lights at Lightfoot Green against 2nd placed Preston Grasshoppers. After last week’s close away win against Chester this crucial game provides more significant jeopardy for the 2nd xv with a real prospect that their 7-year unbeaten record is in danger against a dangerous Hoppers side. The match kicks off at 7.45 at Lightfoot Green and coaches Andrew Soutar and Christian Jones hope that there will be a decent travelling support to encourage a young Caldy side determined to maintain top place in the Premier league and extend their current unbeaten streak.
Caldy Rav3rs also have a league game tomorrow away at Newton Le Willows so all three Caldy senior rugby squads are in action this weekend !
For those unable to travel to Ampthill tomorrow the Elior Champ Rugby game Ampthill v Caldy will be live streamed on TV in the clubhouse at 3.00 pm
