Caldy – That Friday Feeling 21st Nov ’25

There is no Champ Rugby this weekend and everyone can focus upon the Caldy 2nd xv and Caldy 3rd xv games which are both on tomorrow. Senior rugby 2nd team coach Christian Jones was asked what to expect tomorrow from Sale FC Vikings, who themselves have had impressive wins recently away against Sedgley Park and at home against Fylde Hawks.

CJ said “they are new to this league, they will be coached really well, I believe they’re a young team so they’ll be full of energy and just constantly at us throughout” 

Given Caldy 2nd xv unbeaten record, he was also asked about any complacency in the squad ?
CJ said “I actually don’t think complacency is there, I think the character of playing Champ Rugby is always there. We saw last year Dylan Carroll, Lucas Wiggins, we’ve also had Jack Wilson, Dan Rabbette and Matt Rabbette. All of them have had the opportunity to play for the Caldy 1st team and fundamentally that is what the 2nd team is about – getting people ready, regardless of the results, to play 1st team rugby and hopefully we are going to see quite a few more getting in there this year.”

Community Rugby – Sunday 23rd November 
This Sunday, for our Minis it is time to consolidate the learnings from last few matches with a training session back at base. For most of our Juniors, it is time to turn thoughts to the Cheshire Cup with two big games at Caldy for the u14s vs Sandbach and for the u15s vs New Brighton. The u16s round off the Cheshire Cup action with a tough assignment away to Bowdon. Good luck to all the teams !
The fun doesn’t stop there though – the Junior Colts are at home v Chester kicking off at 12.30pm. Senior Colts game v Chester has been postponed to 15th February. Well done to several Caldy u18s players who have been selected for the Cheshire county squad this Sunday !
