Girls Rugby

In 2019,  we started on a journey to get girls rugby going again at Caldy. We started with five or six girls, some weeks just two or three but we kept going. Today we have over 40 girls -some well-established and we have new girls turning up regularly, who’ve heard from friends about how much they enjoy rugby and the team environment. We have two competitive teams and several of our older girls have been selected to play rugby for Cheshire and the Sale Sharks, England Rugby Centre of Excellence.  Our coaches are experienced and work hard to create a friendly and welcoming culture where new players are encouraged to learn new skills and enjoy their rugby.

*Matches tend to be on Sunday’s. The girls game run a number of development days, or pitch up and play events which all take place on a Sunday.

**Girls wishing to play will need a full kit which will cost £40-£50 but initially, any robust clothing with no zips, hoods or cords will do. Girls must have a gumshield (available from sports shops or for a more fitted option, a dentist) and boots with studs that aren’t sharp or burred.

£192 per annum or £16 per month for two adults and one child.

Girls are encouraged to come down and try rugby for the first few weeks and only start paying if they decide to stay.
