This is only necessary for those who have not previously donated to the Caldy Sports Field Trust. – Touch Rugby – British Diversity Awards nomination Caldy Touch’s Head Coach, Andy Sharpes, has been nominated in the Athlete Powering Positive Change category at the 2025 British Diversity Awards !Andy, who coached England to a World Cup bronze medal in summer 2024, has been nominated alongside some sporting legends, including Olympic Gold medalists Sir Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford, England footballer Marcus Rashford, England rugby international Shaunagh Brown, and other nominees from a range of sports. The Athlete Powering Positive Change category is awarded to an athlete who has best used the platform of their sporting endeavour to impact positively on society. Andy has been recognised for his work growing Touch on the Wirral, through the creation of Wirral Waves, the combined clubs womens team, establishing and coaching the North West women’s 40s team. And the creation of the Liverpool City Region Touch League, promoting competition in the local Touch community. In addition Andy supports other local Touch clubs offering support coaching, refereeing and has arranged a Level 1 referee course to be held at Caldy RFC on 25th January 2025. ![]() The British Diversity Awards promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion by recognising those individuals and organisations who continually strive to make workplaces, and society, more inclusive for all.
