Caldy – That Friday Feeling 15th November ’24
With this Saturday being a rest weekend in Premiership Rugby Cup, Caldy’s 2nd xv and 3rd xv take centre stage with tonight’s Halbro Premier league clash under lights at Hare Lane kicking off proceedings at 7.45 pm.
For the entirety of the competitions existence Chester have been fierce competitors in the Halbro Premier League. A derby game between Chester and Caldy at their Hare Lane ground is always well supported by the home side and inevitably a very close affair. Tonight will be the toughest test of the season for Caldy’s young squad who will need all the travelling support that Caldy can muster to counter what is sure to be a hostile and vociferous home crowd.
Chester (43 points) sit second behind Caldy (48 points) in the table but with a slightly better points difference of 264 against Caldy’s 252. Although this would normally point to the closeness of the match up between the sides, this important statistic is somewhat distorted by the fact that Caldy have three walk over victories in their 8-0 win record whereas Chester’s 7-1 record contains no walk overs.
Walk over wins do not accrue any points differential accordingly Caldy really do need to try and secure a win this evening to maintain their advantage over Chester in both league points and points difference.
Andrew Soutar has selected the following squad for tonight’s Halbro Premier
League fixture against Chester RFC which kicks off at Hare Lane at 7.45 pm.
