Caldy – That Friday Feeling 4th October ’24
On Saturday Caldy’s 1st xv travel to Chinnor RFC for the third round of Championship fixtures. The Ravers will be assured of a warm welcome on and off the pitch from Chinnor who will be making their home debut in the Championship.
The last series of fixtures between the clubs played out a few seasons ago when both clubs were in National 1, have been very closely fought with an average of less than 3 points separating the sides. Last season the Thame side stormed through National 1 with an outstanding record, scoring more than 1,000 points and with an incredible points difference of 636, some 434 points better than second placed Rams.
Under the direction of England legend Nick Easter Chinnor have made a strong start to their Championship journey, demolishing Cambridge 24-57 and very narrowly losing last week against an extraordinarily strong Ampthill side by a couple of points. These two results away from home see Chinnor sitting in fourth place in the Championship.
The Ravers will need all their resolve and determination against a confident and in form Chinnor squad for the first time playing Championship rugby in front of their home support.
Caldy’s Head Coach Matt Cairns has selected the following squad for the Championship match away against Chinnor which starts at 3 pm at the Rectory pavilion in Thame.
