Caldy – That Friday Feeling 11th October ’24

Round 4 of the Championship and the Ravers have it all to do. Their third match on the road is against old rivals Ampthill at their picturesque Dillingham Park ground. Over the years the teams have played each other 13 times with the Ravers only picking up a meagre 4 wins. Although the Mob only sit a couple of places above Caldy they have had a couple of good performances, a narrow loss away against Doncaster Knights and a good win at home against Championship newbies Chinnor. Last week’s loss away to Nottingham will have hurt and the Ravers are sure to face an ‘angry Mob.’

Former Ampthill player Joe Sproston is looking forward to returning to his former club. “Caldy and Ampthill have been intertwined over the years as both clubs came up through the leagues to the Championship. For me returning to Dillingham Park is something I very much look forward to. It is sure to be a huge physical battle. We are all up for the challenge.”

Caldy’s Head Coach Matt Cairns has had to deal with a number of injuries within the Caldy squad but is looking forward to the game. “At this level injuries are just a fact of life, and it provides an opportunity for other players to step up.”
Cairns has selected the following squad for tomorrow’s Championship fixture at Dillingham Park against Ampthill which kicks off at 2 pm.

2nd xv Head Coach Andrew Soutar would like to thank everyone at Caldy who donated to Dementia UK in support of his participation in the Berlin Marathon. Sooty broke the 3-hour mark with a very impressive 2-hrs 52 mins knocking 7 minutes off his personal best and raising £2,515 for the charity.
A huge well done to Sooty and everyone at Caldy that supported Dementia UK.
