U13 Winners!!!

Caldy RFC Junior rugby abundance of emerging talent !

Last Sunday was our 30th Caldy Junior Rugby Festival with 32 teams competing across all 4 Junior Age Grades including visiting clubs – Capenhurst, Anselmians, Parkonians, Mold, Waterloo, Hoylake, Birkenhead Park, Chester, Ormskirk, AH Lions, Ruthin, Wirral, Liverpool Collegiate, Southport, New Brighton, Winnington Park & fantastic hosts Caldy.

The weather & pitch conditions were perfect, all Caldy Juniors teams rose to the occasion with some magnificent rugby, competing at every level & displaying an abundance of emerging talent.

A special mention for our Caldy u13s pictured below who epitomize our inclusive philosophy of fun & sociable rugby for everyone. Uniquely entering two equal ability u13s squads, Blacks & Golds, both went unbeaten throughout the tournament until they met in a thrilling, hard fought Cup Final which was played with booming soundtrack of Frankie Goes To Hollywood – Two Tribes !

A huge thankyou to all our Festival organisers, grounds teams at Caldy RFC & Calday Grange Grammar School, clubhouse catering & bar staff, visiting caterers, army of volunteers, referees, first aiders, managers, coaches, parents, supporters & players – it was a truly fantastic success thanks to all your preparation & hard work resulting in an unforgettable day’s Junior rugby at Caldy RFC.
