That Friday Feeling – 11th November 2022

Tomorrow Paton Field has a double header with the 2nd xv playing old rivals Preston Grasshoppers in the Cotton Traders Premier League with a 12 o’clock kick off, followed by the 1st xv playing Cornish Pirates in the Championship Cup with 2 pm kick off.

Caldy’s Director of Rugby Gareth Davies is looking forward to the challenge that ‘Hoppers’ and ‘Pirates’ will be bringing to Paton Field. “Ever since I can remember Preston Grasshoppers have been one of the very best sides in the Northwest and they will bring a strong challenge for our second xv. Cornish Pirates who are first time visitors to Paton Field have been one of the strongest sides in the Championship in the last few years. It promises to be a Saturday full of top-class rugby at Paton Field.

The Caldy coaching staff are able to select two strong squads for this double header.

Andrew Soutar and Christian Jones have selected the following squad for the game against Preston Grasshoppers which kicks off at 12 noon at Paton Field.

Please purchase discounted tickets online in advance or use your complementary season ticket to boost our Championship Cup attendance.

Everyone is welcome to come along to Paton Field on Saturday & help us raise the roof on Senior Rugby match days.

 

Thanks to our Caldy u11’s coaches, parents & players for volunteering this Saturday to help with the gate, parking, raffle & litter picking – much appreciated.

Please support our Caldy u11s who are hosting Anselmians RUFC this Saturday for joint training with Caldy 1st XV players & curtain raiser games on the cricket outfield.

Good luck to our Caldy Juniors u15s & u16s who are both playing their Cheshire Cup round one games this Sunday 13 November at home v Stockport / Macclesfield.
