First up tomorrow Caldy’s 2nd XV take on Burnage at Paton Field with a 1 pm kick off time.

Caldy’s 2nd XV won the Cotton Traders Northwest Premier league earlier this month with a perfect 20 wins so far this season. Under the brilliant coaching and leadership of Andrew Soutar and Christian Jones the 2nd XV’s winning sequence now extends to 40 games. The only Caldy senior side ever likely to break this winning record is this current 2nd XV.

Caldy’s 2nd XV underpins what is being achieved at 1st XV level. The coaches and players of Caldy’s 2nd XV deserve huge admiration and respect for their remarkable record and the pathway that has been developed for Caldy’s future 1st XV players. Please do go along to Paton Field early on Saturday to support the 2nd XV in their quest to extend their winning sequence to 41.

After the brilliant 2nd XV have played their penultimate league match the stage is set for the 1st XV match between Caldy and Sale. This winner takes all contest is likely to be a closely fought encounter and the Caldy squad will need all the support that Paton Field can provide if the Ravers are to win through against a very strong and determined Sale side. The prize for the winner – promotion to the Championship!

Head Coach Matt Cairns has selected the following side for this final match of the season for Caldy against Sale FC which kicks off at 3 p.m.

1.Aigbokhae 2. Hearn 3. Rushton 4. Dickinson S 5. Sanders T 6. Crowe 7. Ridgway 8. Dickinson JJ 9. Murray 10. Hinchcliffe 11. Jones B 12. Barlow 13. Titherington 14. Royle 15. Gourlay 16. Clarke 17. Cartmill 18. Higginson 19. Davidson 20. Gerrard

It is likely that there will be a larger crowd than usual for Saturday’s game. To ease congestion, we ask that supporters attending the game arrive in plenty of time and perhaps take in the 2nd XV game which kicks off at 1 pm. The Paton Field gates will be open from 10.30 a.m. on Saturday.

To further ease pressure on the gate spectators can purchase their tickets for the Caldy v Sale game in advance online at the Caldy website: https://caldyrugbyclub.com/buy-tickets/

It is important that spectators coming to Paton Field, park in the confines of Paton Field so as not to cause any issues for our neighbours in Pikes Hey Road. In previous home fixtures Pike’s Hey Road has become congested resulting in delivery drivers being unable to access Pike’s Hey.

Please be considerate to our neighbours in Pikes Hey Road and park within the confines of Paton Field.
