Welcome to The National League Rugby Review Show!

  • Host and commentator Warren Muggleton to travel the country for key games each week
  • Coverage of every team as either a key game, highlights, play of the week or stat attack
  • £15 for season access, £12 at Early Adopters rate [VAT Inc] for fans to watch
  • National League Rugby clubs to take a share of the revenue from subscriptions

For the 2021/22 National League Rugby season, we will be launching The National League Rugby Review Show!

This will be a 20-minute highlight show that shines a light on the best tries and key moments from the latest round of National One, National Two North and National Two South action.

Broadcast on our website ncarugby.com [which will be changing to nationalleaguerugby.co.uk in due course], the show will be available to watch on Sundays from 6pm after every round. Subscribers will also get access to watch each round’s show anytime after publication until the end of the 2021/22 season.

The show will be hosted and produced by rugby commentator Warren Muggleton, who will travel around the country to present from clubs’ grounds.

The show will be promoted and coordinated by Talking Rugby Union while National League Rugby will also be working with England Rugby to promote the show.

Our aim for The National League Rugby Review Show is to provide one place for fans and new audiences of the leagues to catch up on the action from the latest rounds.  We also want to increase the exposure of National League Rugby and use funds generated to build our leagues into a viable brand.

National League Rugby Chairman, John Inverdale

“This is a marvellous way for rugby at our level to promote itself to the widest possible audience. For the price of a couple of beers, everyone can have a full season’s supply of National League Rugby every week and the great thing is all the clubs will benefit financially too.

“It’s a huge opportunity for self-help. The more people who subscribe, the more the word will get out about rugby at our level and the more money clubs make, the more people will consider coming to watch your club!

“I’d encourage everyone involved at all our member clubs to do all they can to encourage as many people as possible to subscribe.”

How the show will work

The show will run according to the following schedule:

  • X1 key game where Warren Muggleton and pundit present and commentate with post-match interviews, analysis and intros to other sections of the show
  • X2 sets of try-lights for key games from the two remaining leagues
  • X3 key-play sequences with the best moments from the weekend, summing up the headlines from that league
  • Graphics of the leagues’ final scores and tables
  • X1 stats-based feature, highlighting a player/ DoR with graphics and video

The ‘key game’ content will be filmed by Warren Muggleton on-site at the selected fixture with a pundit. National League Rugby will communicate with the clubs to make them aware of plans in advance.

How much it will cost to watch

The National League Rugby Review Show will be broadcast behind a paywall directly on the website. This is being managed through StreamingVideoProvider.

Fans will be able to buy season-access tickets from July 1st through Paypal. This payment point will be available on the National League Rugby website and on each club’s website.

We will be sending clubs an embed code ahead of the launch on July 1st to place onto your website. This is where your fans will be able to pay for their access.

Fans will be able to access the show for a whole season at just £15 [VAT Inc] while your club will receive 40% commission from the subscription.

This will give your club’s fans access to the show as soon as it becomes live on Sundays at 6pm as well as being able to re-watch the previous broadcasts at any time.

To encourage fans to subscribe, we will also be offering an Early Adopters subscription fee of just £12 [VAT Inc] between July 1st and August 15th.

By signing up for this deal, your club will receive 40% commission from purchases during this period.

We have all missed National League Rugby so why not get ahead of the game!

Play Your Part

National League Rugby, Talking Rugby Union and Warren Muggleton are hugely passionate about this project.

But we need every club’s help in reaching the biggest audience possible.

We would therefore urge you to share content as part of the launch campaign – starting on July 1st with a news piece and trailer – on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

National League Rugby will be sending a PR pack on July 1st to all clubs. Please publish it as a news story on your club’s website to align with the full launch campaign of the show.

Please also find attached with this Pre-Launch Package two sets of A4 posters, one during the Early Adopters period and one after this period. Place as many of these as you like around your clubhouse during the summer.

There is also an A6 poster, which we would like clubs to include in Membership booklets that get sent out to members ahead of the 2021/22 season.

We will also be sending you more promotional elements of The National League Rugby Review Show between now and the start of the new season so keep your eyes peeled!

If each club helps with all of this, it means:

Greater reach = More subscribers = More revenue for NLR clubs

We would also love for clubs themselves to be involved in a key part of the show – the introduction!

As part of our launch on July 1st, we’d like you to send a short video of your club captain in a club shirt at the club’s ground receiving a ball from their right and passing it to their left.

Our idea is to clip together with a collaboration of all 48 captains across our three leagues doing the same thing!

Example video from a local club here: Facebook

Please send videos to wmproductions2018@gmail.com

In order for content to be consistent with our clubs, please also send the most up-to-date version of your logo in PNG format to the above e-mail address as soon as possible.

Finally, we would also like some music to use in the show. If your club has any stars with hidden talents that would like to produce an audio sample, send them to the same e-mail address!

Requirements

There are only two main requirements National League Rugby has from clubs for the show:

1 – Uploading footage

We want your club to feature on the National League Rugby Review Show each week so please upload match footage to Elite Hub as swiftly as possible. Please note, Elite Hub stipulates files should not exceed 3GB.

With your assistance with this, it will allow us to make your team part of the show on a Sunday evening!

2 – Cameras

Because the show is behind a paywall, we will require the footage to be of 4K HD Video standard in order to be usable.

Please make sure your club is set up with the best camera for this requirement

Example: Panasonic HC-V77OEB High-Definition Video Camera.

One of the things the last 15 months has highlighted is the strength of our clubs and now we hope we can bring you the best action EVERY SINGLE WEEK from National League Rugby.

If there are any questions or issues with this National League Rugby Review Show Pre-Launch Package, please get in touch via the details below.

We are looking forward to the first kick of a rugby ball in the 2021/22 season and providing THE place to watch the best tries and big moments from the weekend’s action while investing back into your club!
